EMAIL Subject Lines - USE THEM!

I know I have posted regarding this subject before. Yesterday we advertised 6 new positions. Since posting the adverts we have received in the region of 500 cv's. Of those at least 150 have just been deleted. WHY you ask? Because candidates don't use the subject line.
So my question is should I read through those cv's and then contact each and every 1 of those candidates and ask them which position they are applying for?
Logic tells me NO. I will only respond to those cv's that have clearly stated in the subject line which position they have submitted their cv for.
The subject line is there for a reason USE it. Remember most agencies post more than 1 position at a time. The subject line provides information to your e-mail recipient about what your e-mail is about. If you don’t include a subject line when you send your cv to a recruiter, your recipient is essentially receiving a cv from a complete stranger without an explanation as to why the e-mail was sent. Why would a recruiter open that e-mail?
Misusing the subject line is no better. Here’s a list of ineffective subject lines: – Subject: – Subject: CV – Subject: I NEED A JOB!!!!!!!!! – Subject: Juan Portillo – Subject: Resume for available position. – Subject: Hello – Subject: Hard Worker!!!!!!
These are examples of an effective subject line: – Subject: Juan Portillo, Recruiter Vacancy. - Subject: Application for Administrator vacancy - subject: Stock Analyst
Each of the above clearly states which position.
If you are submitting your cv for an available job opportunity, always include the specific title of the position to which you are applying. Remember that recruiters are always recruiting for more than one position, so subjects like: “CV for available position,” doesn’t really give recruiters much to work with. Effective subject lines help recruiters identify the position for which you are applying immediately, which increases your chances of being considered for the position sooner rather than later.
